The
High Plains
Inn is
situated in Tukuche, between Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna (8091m)
in the deepest valley on earth, north of Pokhara. Nowadays accessible
by road. Comfortable base for day trips and expeditions.Build in 1998
by Patrick & Purna extending an old house which belonged to
Purna's
father. The building now features 5 rooms with bathroom, 5 rooms
with shared bathroom and a cosy dining with fire place.
Delicious food: home made bread, fresh bakery in the morning, organic
Himalayan coffee and Dutch Douwe Egberts brew, nassi/bami, pasta and
the best Thakali rice dish available.
During
Dhampus Peak expeditions the High Plains Inn serves as comfortable
base camp and training centre. Sponsors, social workers like
Dutch dentist Joost van Vlijmen (stichtingdhampus.nl) and many
international as well as local tourists regularly enjoy the hospitality
and amenities of our lodge.
Since 1998 hundreds of mountaineers amidst thousands of trekkers
replenished their energy levels in the High Plains Inn's spiritual
environment.
